Whale Watching

There are moments that only happen once in a lifetime, and shouting "Whale in sight!" may be one of them.
In the Atlantic Ocean and especially on the coast of the Azores, different and fascinating species search for food and breeding areas, some are on their way to other parts of the world, and there are those that make the 9 islands of the archipelago their home. It is a sea full of life, including whales.
 
Considered one of the largest whale sanctuaries in the world, in the Azores there are more than 24 different types of cetaceans, like the blue whale for example, the largest animal on earth.
The island of Madeira, of undeniable beauty, also holds treasures in its mild waters and blue skies.
A few kilometres from the coast, the ocean floor reaches a depth of more than 3,000 metres, which explains the greater approximation of some marine species and how easy it is to see them.
Species like the sperm whale and the pilot whale visit regularly, offering an unforgettable experience to those who see them.
Therefore a boat trip is virtually compulsory.
