Has a graduate degree in the History of Art from Nova University, Lisbon and a post-graduate degree in Cultural Management from ISCTE / INDEG Lisbon. Art, travel literature and Portuguese culture are only some of her passions. She has been involved in various cultural events in Lisbon, where she has always lived, including Expo 98, an official World Fair which welcomed 11 million visitors to our country and had a tremendous impact on the development of Portugal´s economy and international exposure. As a traveler herself, she has always greatly valued more personalized tourism, which enables a closer understanding of the spirit of a place. The idea of the project Portuguese Ways was the result of this experience and the desire to offer another perspective of her country and its history and culture to its visitors.
Joined Portuguese Ways in 2011, the year we became members of Pure Life Experiences. The “Genealogical Tour” was his first contribution to the company's statement on the international market. Since then, he has been responsible for the relations with our partners around the globe. His main objective is to provide our partners and customers a genuine knowledge of Portugal through the history, culture, traditions, but especially through the contact between the traveller and the people who make this country a special one. Among his passions, there is the food and wine and he spares no efforts and distances to discover and share what's new and better in Portugal.
Has a degree in Social Communication. With a strong passion for the behind-the-scenes, she always preferred the adventure of “making things happen”, as opposed to the spotlight. Radio, Television and digital media have been part of her professional pathway, but she always felt that something was missing. For several years she soothed that dissatisfaction by planning trips for herself, to know new cultures, their history, and stories. Looking back, she now realizes that the wish to work destinations was hidden. Reflected in the secret desire of being a travel journalist or in how she would design with detail each trip that included a small backpack or a suitcase larger than her. Until the day the motto “choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life” settled unexpectedly and for every traveler’s dream accomplished, she feels her own dream fulfilling.
With a degree in Social and Cultural Communication, taken at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, has worked in areas as distinguished as Marketing and Banking. She went on her first adventure at the young age of only 18 days, when she travelled South to Algarve with her parents. It was with them that she started exploring Portugal, until she was old enough to go on her own, armed only with a tent and a backpack. Her many travels have largely contributed to her passion for tourism and hospitality, but life has driven her away from these. This is perhaps the reason why she feels her joining Portuguese Ways has finally returning home and realising her dream. Now it all falls together.
Laura Moura has been a part of our Team since 2017.
Professionally, she has always been dedicated to helping others, and through her work in Social and Community Intervention, where people and their individual needs were her main focus, she developed her already natural ability to help others by “catering” to specific needs, a trait that she successfully transferred to her new role in Portuguese Ways.
From a young age, Laura learned to recognize and appreciate Portugal’s culture, tradition and human patrimony contribution. This was aided by the fact that she often made long visits to Trás-os-Montes, a beautiful place which was once one of Portugal's most remote areas and to this day a place that has its very own unusual traditions. She has subsequently developed a tremendous interest in the stories behind the different Portuguese traditions as told by the people who still abide by them. This interest has originated several parallel projects in which she uses Photography and Personal Testimonies to showcase the life story of the people who make this country so special. Portuguese Ways gathers the best of both worlds to Laura, as she has the opportunity to individually cater to a client’s needs while making sure that she perpetuates the appreciation of our culture and tradition.
Having recently returned to Portugal after being away for 16 years, Paulo brings with him an enormous desire to show the world the reasons that led to his return. In England, where he lived before coming back home, he spent his professional career dealing directly with clients, which led to the very early realization that his true vocation is to help and communicate with people. For the past five years, he has assisted clients from all over the world to travel to the UK and stay in a Historical Castle. Now, in Portugal, he hopes to be able to do the same while showcasing all the wonderful things that made him return.
With a degree in Tourism, she soon discovered that what she really liked to do was organize and plan trips and events.
Although she was taken to other professional paths, she never lost her love for organizing and planning trips, whether for herself, family, or friends. Passionate about Portugal, its traditions, stories, and customs, as a result of many vacations spent in Serra da Estrela, she feels that there is a growing demand for the authenticity of places, respect and preservation of history and culture. When the invitation to join the Portuguese Ways team was made, she felt that she was finally putting her work together with what she really liked to do and that everything was now in the right place. Its main goal is to transmit to its partners and clients the love for Portugal and for all the people and places that make this country such a unique destination.
Life is a long journey and our goals and dreams are reflected in the path we choose – At 45 years young, Ana has done it all - from working in Law and Accounting to performing live on stage in Musical and Theater events. During her “Journey” she has made many life changing decisions which lead to a personal, professional, and spiritual enrichment. She loves being a part of the team, which she considers family, and takes great pride in being able to help our client’s “dreams come true”.
After a stint in nursing school, he ventured into the hospitality and tourism sectors in Switzerland. These two areas, unified by a foundation of empathy and a commitment to service, often reveal the impact of a genuine (heartfelt) smile delivered at the right moment.
Upon returning to Portugal, fuelled by a deep affection for his people, rich culture, and exquisite cuisine, he continued his professional career in the hospitality industry, taking on roles as a receptionist, a concierge, a reservations management and quality control.
Now part of the Portuguese Ways team, he will continue to channel his passion for helping others by assisting our travelers as they discover the beauty of Portugal.
Portugal is one of the oldest countries of the old continent and the gateway to Europe from the west.
Its geographical location at the crossing point between the Eastern Coast of the American Continent, Europe and Africa along with the richness of its cultural and environmental diversity, are key features that make this country “by the sea” an exceptional destination.
Portuguese territory still includes the archipelagos of Madeira and the Azores in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a country where it is still possible to see 20,000 years’ worth of history, from the rupestrian rock engravings in the Côa Valley to the contemporary works of architecture in the cities. Portugal has an extensive and diverse heritage, a significant part of which has already been listed as world heritage sites by UNESCO.
