São Lourenço do Barrocal

Owned by the same family for more than 200 years, São Lourenço do Barrocal has its functional and social centre on an old Alentejo hill, close to the medieval village of Monsaraz, near Alqueva Lake.
This ancient farming village, where more than 50 families lived in the past, was transformed into a luxury hotel and retreat, amid vineyards, oaks and century olive trees, with the help of Pritzker laureate Eduardo Souto de Moura. A pool, a SPA, a biological vegetable-garden, horse-rides and picnics are among the pleasures you can enjoy while  connecting with the sense of belonging to the vastness of the land that welcomes you.
